Here’s an extract from my latest work. I wrote it as part of NaNoWriMo 2013. If you haven’t yet come across this competition then have a look. Every November NaNoWriMo encourages writers to try and complete a 50,000 plus word novel in a month. Any topic, any genre. The only rule is you start on 1 November and finish by 30 November. It is labelled a competition but you are competing with yourself (and the unforgiving calendar), seeking those elusive 1667 words a day. Since November I have edited it a few times and had input from some trusted readers but I’d welcome any feedback. It is aimed at a young adult/teenage reader but I hope it appeals to the adult reader too. Cross over fiction, I suppose. Anyway enjoy. I will publish the complete work sometime and if you do like this and ask really, really nicely, I might well let you have a second chapter. Maybe.
