About TanGental

My name is Geoff Le Pard. Once I was a lawyer; now I am a writer. I've published several books: a four book series following Harry Spittle as he grows from hapless student to hapless partner in a London law firm; four others in different genres; a book of poetry; four anthologies of short fiction; and a memoir of my mother. I have several more in the pipeline. I have been blogging regularly since 2014, on topic as diverse as: poetry based on famous poems; memories from my life; my garden; my dog; a whole variety of short fiction; my attempts at baking and food; travel and the consequent disasters; theatre, film and book reviews; and the occasional thought piece. Mostly it is whatever takes my fancy. I avoid politics, mostly, and religion, always. I don't mean to upset anyone but if I do, well, sorry and I suggest you go elsewhere. These are my thoughts and no one else is to blame. If you want to nab anything I post, please acknowledge where it came from.

  5. Your challenge for next time is to have all animals in the same shot! You’ve done a fine job on the lawns Geoff.

It is a joy to look at your garden while it is raining cats and dogs over here. Hi, Vicky! How long will she remain with you?

That’s tricky. We’ve a fallback but we hoped a friend of a friend would take her but that’s fallen through. Now a friend of our vet daughter who specialises in exotics (as they’re known her) namely fish and reptiles, may have a lead. We can hang on for a while.

Lovely, lovely. Dog at one point is doing what I would like to do – take a nice nap in the sun on the grass! However did you get the closeup of the fox? What a great get! He or she probably feels safe in your garden.

There are three. One is small feisty and suffers from mange, one is the woman and the most confident and one the dog fox who pretends to be cock of the walk but keeps his distance. The on in pic is the girl.

How nice to have three but I’m sorry for the suffering of the small one. We had a dog before the treatment for mange was found and we had to have him put down. I have gotten teary thinking of him even years afterward because he was my dog. Perhaps it could be trapped and treated. Are foxes endangered there?

Goodness know. They’re a real problem in some urban places as there are too many. The Vet has given us some mange treatment which we’ve given them.

I must agree with tootiepedal – class A mowing – looks like the Queen’s yard. (or should I say King’s?)
