An Alpaca Love Letter

A female alpaca

Is a matter

Of lots of spare parts.

The fur

Of some cur,

The neck of giraffes.

The knees

If you please

From knobbly trees,

While her spleen

Which seems

To be newish,

With her eyes,

No surprise

Seductively bluish.

Eye lashes so bold

Beautifully kohled

It’s really a thrill

To know the alpaca

Is a cracker

,Jack girl.

My name is Geoff Le Pard. Once I was a lawyer; now I am a writer. I've published several books: a four book series following Harry Spittle as he grows from hapless student to hapless partner in a London law firm; four others in different genres; a book of poetry; four anthologies of short fiction; and a memoir of my mother.     What a great ode to alpacas! We visited an alpaca farm in Maine, where they keep alpacas for their wool, and discovered how nice it is to be kissed by one! They have better personalities than llamas.

    Oh, how fun! There is a lovely farm shop near as that has some alpacas (or llamas, I’m never sure of the difference). They also have a camel but I can identify that one 😂. KL ❤️

    Totally off subject of alpacas–I saw a dog on Thursday that looked so like Dog that I had a moment of genuine cognitive dissonance. Where was I anyway?
