Another Three Letter Acronym #TBR

Diana at Myths of the Mirror has asked about our reaction to our TBR list. This is what came to mind…

The sex life of plums

My many chums

Hemlines I have known

Holidaying alone

The treatment of pests

Men in vests

Anne Frank’s diaries

Telephone enquiries

The comprehensive A to Z

John and Yoko’s unmade bed

Computing for dummies

Slummy mummies

Egypt on a dime

An audio book of mime

*

… it must be said

That my ‘to be read’

Will never ever end

And drive me round the bend.

So I’ll name and shame

And point the finger of blame

At that modern day swindle

The never full kindle….

About TanGental

My name is Geoff Le Pard. Once I was a lawyer; now I am a writer. I've published several books: a four book series following Harry Spittle as he grows from hapless student to hapless partner in a London law firm; four others in different genres; a book of poetry; four anthologies of short fiction; and a memoir of my mother. I have several more in the pipeline. I have been blogging regularly since 2014, on topic as diverse as: poetry based on famous poems; memories from my life; my garden; my dog; a whole variety of short fiction; my attempts at baking and food; travel and the consequent disasters; theatre, film and book reviews; and the occasional thought piece. Mostly it is whatever takes my fancy. I avoid politics, mostly, and religion, always. I don't mean to upset anyone but if I do, well, sorry and I suggest you go elsewhere. These are my thoughts and no one else is to blame. If you want to nab anything I post, please acknowledge where it came from.

  1. Hahaha! Geoff, you really are so very funny. And yes, a kindle is a swindle because you can just keep buying books forever.

It’s like my subscription to Mailchimp. I know I should, stop but I still think, one day, I’ll start that newsletter… meanwhile I go one spending pointlessly…

Too fun! Let’s add all the other eReaders to kindle, and we’ll never be able complete our TBR list. hahahaha

I wish it would at least get heavier with each purchase so I might realise how insidious is this trap. There must be an app that can add weight to your device, surely… everything else I do adds weight.

Over here it is a 3D bookshelf that is almost bursting since I don’t find time for reading but still add books 😂

  22. But would we want it any other way? Here’s to being swindled more and more with BOOKS. This was fun and well done. 🙂
