About TanGental
My name is Geoff Le Pard. Once I was a lawyer; now I am a writer. I've published several books: a four book series following Harry Spittle as he grows from hapless student to hapless partner in a London law firm; four others in different genres; a book of poetry; four anthologies of short fiction; and a memoir of my mother. I have several more in the pipeline.
I have been blogging regularly since 2014, on topic as diverse as: poetry based on famous poems; memories from my life; my garden; my dog; a whole variety of short fiction; my attempts at baking and food; travel and the consequent disasters; theatre, film and book reviews; and the occasional thought piece. Mostly it is whatever takes my fancy.
I avoid politics, mostly, and religion, always. I don't mean to upset anyone but if I do, well, sorry and I suggest you go elsewhere.
These are my thoughts and no one else is to blame. If you want to nab anything I post, please acknowledge where it came from.
Beautiful all year round!

It is awesome that you have such a big garden for such a party. So, to tell from the pics: sunny spring, rainy summer, sunny fall!

Yep, pretty much close. The summer rain was of the gentle refreshing sort happily and not on the big day. There was one day in July when a humungous storm crossed London (heading you way in fact) and flooded several spots ripping the blossom off everything but we watched the clouds growl last, the thunder and lighting rippling like some demotic gym bunny’s pecs. Not a drop… phew!

I know which storm you mean, Geoff. Wow, you were absolutely lucky! This summer was one wet and cool summer. But there is another one on the way… it can only become better, or at least I hope so… lol

It wasn’t great if you only want the sun, but if you wanted the blooms to hang on it was near perfect…

I remember your photos well. The climate was perfect for your garden… not so good for mine. But at least, there were flowers 😁

Lovely, Geoff. I liked the wedding photo and even spotted you in the back. That molar on the right looks like it could use some work.

I love these photos! I am in the states and regularly visit a national garden where the English garden is by far my favourite haunt.
The sunflowers make the wedding picture especially brilliant and happy!

Terrific but did you notice that someone stole two of your pots in late February?

What fabulous photos Geoff, but doesn’t it ever rain over there?? I love the wedding shots, how special for you all.

We had a lovely summer of sun and soft rain hence the green and pleasant stage for the nuptials. Oddly old fashioned really, belieing climate change for one year at least. I’ve no doubt the meteorological gods will play with us next year.

It must be fun for you to look back at all the changes over a year. Thank goodness for visual proof because my memory can’t keep track of it all.

Ditto. I do have a few too many pictures if I’m honest. But it’s fun looking over them…

Lovely pics of a lovely garden. Delighted the rain kept off for the wedding. Now what’s for next year?

I’ve enjoyed recording it. I think I probably need to be consistent where I take the picture from though

It was pretty much the same scene. The slight differences in perspective were nice, and sometimes revealed a new thing. What I was noticing was the time of year certain things blossomed and leaves came out and turned. Very similar to here, oddly.

What a glorious reflection of your gardens’s year. This is your pride and joy. Only a dusting of snow one month? That’s a blessing. Of course the last photo captures everything – family and garden.

Yes just three days of snow last year, any barely warrants calling it that. Thanks Jennie. Enjoy the holidays
