In Memoriam – Sam Harper 1989 to 2013

It is three years since I wrote this and a reminder popped into my inbox today. The Lawyer is abroad just now so I can’t give him the hug I’d like to. So this is for him and all his friends who I know still miss Sam HB. We do well to treasure all our memories

About TanGental

My name is Geoff Le Pard. Once I was a lawyer; now I am a writer. I've published three books - Dead Flies and Sherry Trifle, My Father and Other Liars and Salisbury Square. In addition I published an anthology of short stories, Life, in a Grain of Sand this summer. A fourth book will be out soon. This started life as a novel in a week on this blog and will follow later this year. I blog about all sorts at geofflepard.com and welcome all comments. These are my thoughts and no one else is to blame. If you want to nab anything I post, please acknowledge where it came from.

Still a lovely piece, Geoff. Hard to believe someone born in 1989 is no longer here…

I’m not much one for proper crying… but I just read In Memoriam and felt the trapped sobs pound my abdomen. I lost a friend last week, a beautiful girl in her early 20s. Your words speak my grief.
    Thank you

    If a place he be,
    In which to see.
    I am sure he’d
    Be as proud as
    A friend can be,
    To be recalled
    Intimately
    By friends
    Who’s lives
    He touched
    And obviously
    He liked as much.
