I write; therefore I am a writer

Having just published book 4 I wanted to take you back to just before I published book one and the dilemma I think all writers face in those early days

Maybe this will help you take those first steps.

About TanGental

My name is Geoff Le Pard. Once I was a lawyer; now I am a writer. I've published three books - Dead Flies and Sherry Trifle, My Father and Other Liars and Salisbury Square. In addition I published an anthology of short stories, Life, in a Grain of Sand this summer. A fourth book will be out soon. This started life as a novel in a week on this blog and will follow later this year. I blog about all sorts at geofflepard.com and welcome all comments. These are my thoughts and no one else is to blame. If you want to nab anything I post, please acknowledge where it came from.

I totally agree re. the radio. That section of the Ian Robertson 2003 RWC Final commentary still sends shivers up my spine. On the opposite side, there was a R4 documentary about the fight to prevent the M3 extension at Twyford Down with its attendant possible ruination of the natural environment which ended with ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ by Keane. I blubbed my eyes out.

  2. That was an honest and uplifting selection of words there Geoff – one I completely understand. I never use the a word about myself – I say I play about with paints……. There’s a spectrum in all things and it takes a while to know where we fit or even if we fit. But, for myself, I think having fun and making people smile, or think, is the most important thing. And you are definitely a writer!
