In The Rain #poem #poetry

Jane’s Prompt is to use this picture and five words.

Jane's prompt rain

Relentless rain, on my window pane

Greets my waking. Hands still shaking

I pour the coffee, brush sleep-grits off me

Resist my bed, those books to be read.

Cold water a river, alive in a  shiver.

The day’s begun; regrets I have one.

She’s gone…

Nicely done – the ending really comes as a surprise. Not sure what a sleep grit is though!
