‘I’m having this dream. It starts with me in the dark. Gradually my eyes adjust. At first I don’t hear anything but as the shapes appear the noises start, like a cawing like crows only deeper…’

‘Are they birds?’

‘I don’t know. I…’

‘Are you ok? Do you need a moment?’

‘No. There’s a tremendous cacophony now. Like take off, everything going up. I want to watch but I’m sure they’re about to attack me so I close my ears and that’s when I wake.’

‘This happens every night?’

‘Yes. I’m barely functioning.’

‘And the last consultant suggested what?’

‘Medication. Then drawing what I see. Here.’

‘Goodness. That’s incredible. Like ostriches. Only flying. And their teeth.’

‘What do you think? What should, I do?’

‘Well, your fear is what? They will attack you?’

‘Yes. I have this phobia of birds, all that flapping. I’m sure they are going to rip me to shreds.’

‘Odd then that they are all flying away.’

‘What?’

‘You’ve painted them flying away. If they’re going to attack…’

‘Good heavens, I have. That’s amazing. I feel so much better.’

‘Excellent.’

‘Will I be alright?’

‘I’ll send you my fee and… Mr Johnson? Are you alright?’
