Nano Num-Nums 2015

They’re back!

Last year I spiced up Nano with my num-nums, a segued journey through my comedy favs, starting back in the 1960s with early Palin and moving up to date and back.

I make no promises this time that I’ll complete a set but let’s see.

So a theme – women comics. Again I may slip but to start a brilliant group who created

Smack the Pony

The comic geniuses from this great show are Doon MacKichan, Sally Phillips, with the most fungible face in comedy, Sarah Alexander and Fiona Allen. As someone said in another context ‘Really wild, General’.

As for what the expression ‘smack the pony’ means, well either use your imagination or look it up!

  6. Very good, Geoff. Used to watch the show regularly. As with any sketch show, it could be a bit hit and miss, but generally very funny – and, frankly, very easy on the eye as well. (Them, not you…)
